Welcome to the Lamp and Scroll! This place is devoted to the study of the Holy Scriptures, the name of YHWH, and the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We are seeking Truth through the Word of Elohim alone; setting aside the traditions of men, and answering the call to come out of Babylon and walk in Covenant Faithfulness.
Our journey in faith
The Lamp & Scroll is a personal journal of biblical study and reflection. It is a place to explore the Holy Scriptures, to ask difficult questions, and to seek truth through the Word of Elohim rather than the traditions of men. My desire is not to promote religion or denomination, but to examine the Scriptures carefully, allowing them to speak for themselves.
Whether you agree with every conclusion or not, my hope is that these studies will encourage you to search the Scriptures diligently, test every teaching, and grow in your understanding of the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
A Note on Terminology
Throughout this website I often use transliterated Hebrew words such as Elohim, YHWH, Torah, and Ruach. I also refer to the TANAKH and the Apostolic Writings. These choices are not intended to be burdensome or to imply that English Bible translations are inadequate. Rather, they reflect my desire to preserve important biblical concepts that are sometimes obscured in translation and to encourage readers to consider the Scriptures in their original context.
